The MPharm is an integrated masters degree comprising 600 Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) credits and students are required to undertake 150 credits per academic session.  For an Honours degree students would be required to undertake 480 SCQF credits over 4 years.

The MPharm is a higher award than the Honours degree and students are required to undertake 600 credits normally over 4 years.

The MPharm takes the student from SCQF level 7 to SCQF level 11, i.e. Postgraduate Masters level. The MPharm course includes lower level exit awards which would be awarded in the event a student failed or withdrew. Further information is contained within the Course Information Descriptor which can be found in the Course Information Database (search Undergraduate Courses - Pharmacy, MPharm).

The criteria used to determine classifications can be found in Academic Regulation A4 Assessment and Recommendations of Assessment Boards.
